I, a Stinging Nettle, will annoy you.

We, Stinging Nettles, flourish along streams and in meadows. We have fine hairs that grow along our stems and under our leaves. They are like hypodermic needles that pierce your skin. Our hairs contain histamines and fulic acid causing inflammation and a burning sensation.

However, in the early spring, our young leaves can be picked and eaten as a wonderuful source of vitamin C. Around July, our green seeds an be harvested and dried. These seeds are highly nutritious. Also, our summer foilage, collected and seeped in water for a few weeks, yield a wonderful nitrogen based fertilizer. Maybe, you will see our beauty.
